This policy describes how Pitou Location ("we") collects and processes the personal data of users of its website and of its customers, in compliance with French law n°78-17 of 6 January 1978 "Informatique et Libertés" and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR"). It complements the General Rental Conditions (article 25) and the Legal Notices of the site.
1. Data controller
The data controller is TEROROIRIA (Pitou Location), SARL with capital of 200,000 FCFP, registered under N° TAHITI E23679 / RCS 21 119 B, with its registered office at Mataiea PK 45.500, mountain side. Any request relating to your data can be sent by email to pitoulocation@gmail.com or by post to BP 2487 – 98718 Punavai.
2. Data we collect
We collect the data you provide and that generated by your browsing:
- Online booking: last name, first name, email, phone, rental dates and location, vehicle, options, flight number if any.
- Vehicle pick-up: ID, driving licence, proof of address (resident rate), additional drivers.
- Payment: transaction data (payment is processed by our provider; we do not store the full card number).
- Contact form: name, email, message.
- Site browsing: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, cookies (see article 6).
- Contract execution: claims data and, where applicable, vehicle geolocation data (see GCR article 24).
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process your data for the following purposes:
- Contract performance: processing your booking, drawing up the contract, managing the rental and customer service.
- Legal obligation: invoicing, accounting, tax and retention obligations.
- Legitimate interest: fleet security, fraud prevention, claims management, site improvement, audience measurement.
- Consent: non-essential cookies and commercial communications, where you consent.
Detection of your connection area (IP address) is used solely to display the applicable rate (resident or visitor); it does not give rise to any profiling for other purposes.
4. Data recipients
Your data is accessible to authorised staff of Pitou Location. It may be transmitted, to the extent necessary, to our service providers (online payment, site hosting, booking tool), to our insurer, and to the competent authorities in the event of legal obligations or claims. We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
5. Retention periods
- Booking and contract data: duration of the relationship, then archived according to legal time limits (statute of limitations, accounting and tax obligations).
- Prospecting / contact data: up to 3 years after the last contact, or until consent is withdrawn.
- Geolocation data: 30 days maximum.
- Cookies: 13 months maximum.
6. Cookies
The site uses cookies. Cookies strictly necessary for operation (booking, security, language and currency preferences) do not require your consent. Audience measurement and, where applicable, marketing cookies are only deposited after your consent, collected via a dedicated banner. You can change your choices at any time from this banner or from your browser settings.
7. Your rights
In accordance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights regarding your data:
- Right of access and rectification.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to object and right to restrict processing.
- Right to data portability.
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time, for processing that depends on it.
- Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure (restricted access to authorised staff, secure payment via certified provider, secure hosting).
9. Transfers outside French Polynesia
Some service providers (hosting, booking tool, payment) may be located outside French Polynesia. Where applicable, these transfers are framed by appropriate guarantees in accordance with applicable regulations.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The applicable version is the one published on the site at the date of your visit. The last update date appears at the top of the document.
